Use TickNow with Claude
Last updated: 12 October 2026
Connect Claude to TickNow and manage your day in plain words: ask what's planned, add tasks and to-dos, tick items off, and start or stop a focused session.
Before you start
- A TickNow account. It's free to create at ticknow.app.
- A passphrase, set the first time you save a plan. Your plans are encrypted with it in your browser.
- A Claude plan that lets you add connectors.
Connect in three steps
1. In TickNow, open AI Connectors from the menu and turn on AI access. Enter your passphrase if asked, and choose Read or Write.
2. In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, select Browse connectors, find TickNow and add it. If it isn't listed for you, add a custom connector named TickNow with this address: https://mcp.ticknow.app/mcp
3. Select Connect, sign in to TickNow and allow Claude. The connector is ready once Claude shows it as connected.
What Claude can do
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| get_day | Reads one day: its tasks in order, with their numbers, estimates and checklists, then the day's to-dos and lists. |
| list_projects | Lists your drafts by name. |
| list_project_items | Reads the items of one draft. |
| list_lists | Reads your lists and their items. |
| get_running_session | Shows what you're working on now and how many minutes are left. |
| create_task | Plans a task on a day, or with no date yet, with an optional time estimate and checklist. |
| add_task_items | Adds checklist items to a task, found by its id or its number, such as CI-29. |
| add_todos | Adds to-dos to a day. |
| create_project | Creates a draft. |
| add_project_items | Adds items to a draft. |
| create_list, rename_list | Creates a list, with its items, or renames one. |
| delete_list | Deletes a list. Days it was put on keep their copy. This can't be undone. |
| add_list_items, remove_list_items | Adds items to a list or removes them. Days it's already on keep their own copy. |
| add_list_to_day | Puts a list on a day as a fresh copy to tick. |
| move_list | Moves a list to another day while none of its items is ticked. |
| remove_list_from_day | Takes a list off one day, with that day's ticks. The list and its other days stay. |
| set_items_done | Ticks or unticks checklist items, to-dos and the items of a list on a day. |
| edit_items | Rewords checklist items, to-dos and the items of a list on a day. Ticked items stay ticked. |
| delete_items | Deletes checklist items, to-dos and the items of a list on a day. This can't be undone. |
| move_task | Moves a task, started or done, to another day, or takes it off its day. |
| set_estimate | Changes a task's time estimate, or takes it off. |
| archive_task, unarchive_task | Archives a task, or brings it back. |
| delete_task | Deletes a task with its checklist, and its worked time stops counting. This can't be undone. |
| start_session | Starts a focused session on a task, on to-dos, or on nothing yet. |
| add_to_session | Adds tasks and to-dos to the session running now, which shares its time among them. |
| stop_session | Stops the running session and keeps the time worked. |
Claude checks what is already there before adding, so nothing is added twice. With Read, Claude can only look; adding, changing and deleting need Write.
Things to ask
- What's on my plan today?
- Add 'Review the pull request' to tomorrow, 45 minutes.
- What's still open in my Bluebird draft?
- Tick off the first two items of CI-32.
- Move CI-34 to Friday and make it 90 minutes.
- Add oat milk to my Groceries list and put it on Saturday.
- Start a 30-minute session on task 33, then tell me what's left.
Your privacy
- Your plans are encrypted in your browser. AI access is off until you turn it on.
- While it's on, TickNow's server opens only what Claude asks for, to answer it. Claude never sees task descriptions, or past sessions and events.
- TickNow keeps a short history of which assistants connected and how many things they added or changed, never the text of your plans.
- Read the full privacy policy at ticknow.app/privacy.
Limits
On Free, Claude can make 10 requests to TickNow a day, counted by UTC day; each look or change is one. Pro has no daily limit.
Turn it off
- In Claude, remove TickNow from Settings, then Connectors.
- In TickNow, turn off AI access on AI Connectors. Every connection ends at once, and your plans are closed to the server again.
